If you are interested in having your child participate in Suzuki Strings of Augusta, please fill out the online contact form.

Suzuki Strings of Augusta, Inc. requires new parents to attend a Parent Orientation before enrolling in our program.  We have found this to be most beneficial since many parents are not aware of what is involved, or what is expected of them as Suzuki Parents.  This is true even when you move from another Suzuki Program.  We are dedicated to the Suzuki philosophy and so we want our parents to be more informed not just about Suzuki in general, but our program before getting involved or making an initial commitment.  We have  Parent Orientation Meetings as well as Beginning Parent classes.

We require our parents to attend classes first (they generally run about six weeks, but have been condensed to 4 weeks when we can schedule each session for a longer period of time).  Because of this, several parents have come to the Orientation meeting knowing that their child was too young to start taking lessons, but wanted to learn what they could be doing with their child at home in the meantime.  Some have even taken the parent classes, come to observe Group Lessons  and private lessons with their child, but waited for their child to take privately when the teacher and parent agreed that the child was ready.  This has also proved very successful.  Sometimes, with an “older” child, we have been able to incorporate the parent classes into the student’s lessons so that the student could start right away.  Because of all of this, we strongly encourage those of you who are truly interested in the Suzuki Method and our program either now or in the future to attend a parent orientation meeting.

Students attend weekly lessons with an instructor and are expected to attend twice a month group lessons.  We have numerous opportunities for performances.  We have annual recitals.
